Dictator’s Den and I sit down to reveal Tim Tzouliadis’ great book, The Forsaken, about the fate of tens of thousands of Americans who found themselves in the USSR in the 1930s and beyond. Abandoned by the US, they were executed and imprisoned in Soviet concentration camps. A few survived long enough to be repatriated in the 1950s and 60s and wrote books. Tzouliadis documents the degree to which America was complicit with the genocidal efforts of the Soviet regime, whether directed against US citizens or otherwise.
I hope to make these book reviews an ongoing feature. Please let me know if you have requests for us to review specific books.
