Excellent article, appreciate your perspective even though I camp across the battlefield. I would prefer to fight a virtuous soldier of God than some nihilist sewer rat. I had a question: how does Hamas get funding for their paramilitary activities? Is primarily MB sources, is it skimmed off the top of the aid bucket, or someplace else?

I assume by taxing aid, taxing income, through zakat (saw Hamas collection boxes in Turkey, for instance) and from Qatar and Iran.

Option 5 nobody wants a complex conflict and EY tucks tail. This is te most likely option as of late, shame on us.

Too many of the wrong people and their relatives were killed and captured, and the IDF was made to look corrupt and incompetent. They can't just back out so easily, there will be personal consequences to too many people who matter.

Fascinating and sobering and also an indictment of the whole establishment, the entire Zionist enterprise. There needs to be more than that though. This can't be all that we get for half the world's Jews returning to EY. No matter how accurate your analysis, what about all the possibilities that emerge from this tragedy? None of us know what these possibilities are but we are Klal Yisroel and we have to believe in them happening to our benefit.

Expelling Arabs from Gaza is the only way to ensure the safety of the area. Gaza was handed back to them due to Sharon's disastrous policies, and they allowed the jihadi cancer to grow. They cannot be trusted with running their own territories and the population is too large to be absorbed. Also this would be a message to the Arab world that any terrorist attack in the similar veins would lead to more and more land loss, if you want to lose the south of Lebanon via Hezbollah acting up, go ahead.

Without the rockets or the work ethic.

Israel on track to be the first but not last Managerial State to either fail or succeed.

Depending on how you count South Africa.

To survive you don’t need a Mandela you need a… ah… er…
