Are we really an American vassal state?
The elites don't want you to know this but the ducks at the park are free
I once attended a lecture by H.A., the Israeli equivalent of a court Jew, who had leveraged a master’s in systems analysis into a series of advising and consulting gigs for the GOI (Government of Israel). The idea is that policy, though driven by whatever personal and political shenanigans are going on behind the scenes, must on some level be justified intellectually. If you can use game theory with all sorts of equations and symbols, all the better. Among other gigs, the speaker had been an advisor to Itzhak Rabin during the Oslo peace process. Rabin, an old alcoholic whose highest academic credential was a degree from an agricultural high school, didn’t know the difference between game theory and a pig’s digestive system, but that wasn’t the point. H.A. explained to us that any Prime Minister who even thought for a second of setting his own foreign policy would get a fax from Washington, and within 30 seconds of reading it would repent of his errors, shut up and color.
Is this true? Are we just America’s bitch, whose fate is to wait to be told what to do by Foggy Bottom, and then do it? מכשיל בינה thinks so.
In short, the ceasefire with Hezbollah, which is a really bad deal, is driven by American orders, nobody wants it, but it doesn’t matter what we want. The sooner we realize that we’re an American satrapy, just like everyone else except for China, the sooner we can settle down to being the best American satrapy we can be. Whatever that means-every month will be Pride Month, or something.
This doesn’t hold water. The ceasefire is not an Israeli defeat, nor a Hezbollah victory. We are only an American vassal state when we want to be, and as much as we want to be. And this is true for almost every other country in the American sphere of influence today.
Hezbollah’s goal in entering the war was to exert pressure on Israel in support of Hamas, in order to help Hamas come to a negotiated agreement which would improve its position or at least keep from worsening it. This would involve an Israeli withdrawal, release of Hamas prisoners and a loosening of import restrictions on Gaza. Hezbollah was not willing to risk a ground invasion of Israel, since this would lead to many casualties. Instead, it used direct and indirect fire: antitank missiles. mortars, rockets and drones. It did not achieve its goal; instead, Hezbollah got a ground invasion of Southern Lebanon, its population base displaced and their homes demolished, thousands of dead operatives and thousands more eyeless, castrated and fingerless.
Nasrallah is dead, the guy who replaced him is dead, the guy who replaced that guy had to flee to Iran and there’s an internal war going on over the ceasefire. Israel is still in Gaza and Hezbollah is stopping combat operations. On top of all that, the non-Shia Lebanese who have been living with Hezbollah’s state within a state in their country now see how weak Hezbollah is and are thinking of indigenous Middle Eastern ways to express their contempt. This is a defeat.
Israel’s goal going into the war was (unfortunately) not to conquer everything south of the Litani, expel the inhabitants and annex the land. It was also (fortunately) not to conquer and administer the 200,000 hostile Shiites of South Lebanon while fighting an endless counterguerrilla war. The goal was to bring Hezbollah’s attacks to a conclusive end, giving Israel the freedom of maneuver to win in Gaza without worrying about hundreds of thousands of missiles landing on the North followed by a ground invasion by the Radwan Force. That goal has been achieved.
Are we an American vassal state? Our secular elites would prefer that this be the case; their values are those of New York, DC and California, and in a vassal state, they could be satraps in perpetuity. “The Americans made us” is a perfect excuse to do whatever it is they wanted to do in the first place. But it’s simply untrue. Bibi is our longest-serving prime minister; from his first election in 1996 to his current term, he’s been opposed by the US State Department and everyone in DC who matters, using the full arsenal of soft power from money to the Orange Revolution toolbox. Yet Bibi is in office, and America’s preferred replacements are stuck fantasizing about taking power through civil war. The US opposed the ground invasion of Gaza and warned Israel not to make any big moves in Lebanon a day before Israel launched the pager operation. Despite threats to cut off supplies for the IDF, the US has not done so. In short, America has been almost as forceful with its supposed Israeli vassal as it has been with Iran.
In part, this is a function of the fact that America can’t afford to lose Israel as an ally in the Eastern Levant. Its other allies here are economic and political basket cases: Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon are completely dependent on American aid and always teetering on the verge of a civil war. An Israeli pivot to an overtly independent policy would be a disaster for American foreign policy in the Middle East. In larger part, it’s due to the fact that American power is not what it used to be. Even in its own backyard of Latin America, countries like El Salvador blatantly defy American requests when they wish. Does America launch a coup, like it would have during the Cold War? No-it buckles. Imperial decay is a bitch, especially combined with an ideology which constantly demands allies behave in progressively more suicidal ways, right down to surrendering to MS-13. You’re constantly tempting them to tell you to pound sand, and when they do, you have no leverage to make them fall back in line.
None of this is a secret. So why are Anglo intellectuals explaining to the rest of us that there’s simply nothing to do but submit to our masters, at the moment of their greatest decrepitude? Simply put, submission is all they know. It’s the basic function of the intelligentziya. The second they enter a room, they’re looking for a superior to whom to submit grant requests. Having submitted those requests, they can get back to looking down on their social inferiors-flyover country MAGA rightoids in America, lumpen arsim in Israel, any inferiors will do. They can’t be happy with independence and sovereignty-it’s simply not the done thing.
Fine, if that’s your thing. But why use your giant brain and extensive education to explain that the sky is obviously not blue but orange, and that the rest of us had better shut up and get to filling out our own grant applications and kissing up to Elite Human Capital? Surely there are more productive uses for such intellectual potential.
PS “Zionism was a mistake”-only as an end unto itself. Building our own state in order to sit there and sink into mediocrity is not a noble endeavor fitting of the enormous potential of the Jewish people. On the other hand, what was the Non-Zionist alternative? Investing our efforts into building a comfortable existence in Poland and Hungary? Moving to Rockland County and waiting for the neighbors there to get sick of us? Assimilation? Come on, man!

I'm not speaking for the Jewish people and the people of Israel.
The Prophet is speaking of a time after the Temple has been rebuilt and the Jews have defeated many nations conclusively.
We have not had a single decade without a war since we've been here, and until the prophecy above comes to fruition, we will not.
