Wouldn't be surprised if the disappearance was engineered to increase sympathy for her

Turns out it was to dump her work phone in the ocean after cleaning out her cloud back ups.

As always a good article, but I’m not sure I see what you’re saying about Goldfus’ comments. Invariably, calls for “unity” are code for “you, a rightist politician with popular support, should stop doing this thing the media class dislikes”.

Is there some reason to think Goldfus didn’t mean it that way and instead was saying “you have the advantage, press it home”? Because otherwise it’s just cover for more shtlibbery.

Baruch Hasofer's avatar

One reading of Goldfus is what you wrote. Another one is a request to stop dicking around and make big moves in Gaza.

and this morning, a big case against hundreds in the Histadrut. this must what they were screeching about when warning of a Zini-controlled KGB - they knew what they were talking about!

Wont the Israeli left always have a leg up by via the ability to leak and or get rewarded by the "global" left?

Baruch Hasofer's avatar

Since the Global Left doesn't really exist, no. Their patrons in the American Left are old, tired, beset by Mamdanis.

Hammer Otongo's avatar

The rise in antisemitism has done severe damage to the Israeli Left. Nearly half of young Democrats are Palestinianists who hate the Israeli Left every bit as much as they hate the Israeli Right (and that number is well over 50% of young *white* Democrats, who are the only ones that really matter). Oct 7 damaged the internal support for the Israeli Left, but it *ended* the international support for the Israeli Left entirely.

All I can say is, thank G-d for terrorism and antisemitism because without them we'd be screwed.

Nemesis, Rabbi's avatar

Are many in the israeli left just moving to the U.S and becoming full Hamas simps? is that a thing?

Hammer Otongo's avatar

Well I'm not Israeli myself but based on what I've seen, the Israeli Leftist elites still give lip service to the idea of a Palestinian state and cooperation with the international community but it doesn't seem like rank and file Leftists believe in that shit anymore.

Israeli Leftism now mainly just means being anti Bibi, anti haredi and in favor of the High Court.

Yossi Kreinin's avatar

This would be like chess where you no longer believe in checkmate. The main goal of the Israeli left is still a "Palestinian" state. The rank and file admit this privately. The leaders show it when labeling religious Zionists but not Haredis as illegitimate (the Oslo accords were enabled by Haredi votes and they are still hoping for a repeat; of the draft saga a prominent Haredi said, "the high court wants to decide who our coalition partners are" - not to draft them, mind you, but to force them into a coalition with the left)

Hammer Otongo's avatar

1. Nobody really supports a Palestinian state anymore

2. The Palestinians themselves would never accept a state, they are more opposed to such a thing than are the most hardcore Kahanist

3. Today's IDF is incapable of carrying out large scale settlement expulsions. This isn't the Israel or IDF of 1993 or 2005

Like I said, the Left still plays lip service to the idea because the only alternative is expulsion and they can't publicly advocate that (or even admit it to themselves). Your typical chiloni shetllib definitely doesn't want a Palestinian state

Yossi Kreinin's avatar

1. About 20% of the public support it - that's the core of the Surrender To Hamas Now movement; all of their press supports it vehemently, eg Haaretz ran a piece telling Netanyahu that in exchange for a "Palestinian" state, "as a jurist I can assure you that your case can be dismissed" (wrote some degenerate professor of something). Bennett was filmed saying "the time to discuss it is in 5-6 years", that was 1-2 years ago

2. They wouldn't accept a state in the sense of relinquishing demands in exchange for it, but they wouldn't mind the IDF retreating

3. Once the IDF retreats the government can consider the job done, "Palestinians" will handle the expulsion

Whether the 80% who don't want it would stop it is a good q; I think it would be up to the 20% who _really_ don't want a Palestinian state - 60% can be talked into supporting or at least not opposing pretty much anything - and I am not sure those 20% would do better than they did during "disengagement", there are reasons to hope so but no reasons to be certain IMO

Why is everybody pretending like IDF prison guards don't habitually beat Hamas prisoners half-to-death? The reason there's a (white, liberal) lawyer in every room is to limit the damage the apes that compromise roughly 60% of the army can do.

If those soldiers had room temp IQ they would at least wait until the prisoner was in a room without a camera to break his rib. But they don't, and so you need an Ashkenazi mommy to police them.

Baruch Hasofer's avatar

Oh, no, they beat Hamas prisoners?

Yishayahu's avatar

That wasn't so hard, was it? Now just stop saying "alleged abuse" or pretending to believe that the guy they beat up on camera just happened to have a perforated rectum from a completely unrelated incident.

Baruch Hasofer's avatar

How did he get a perforated rectum without damage to his anus?

Do an experiment for me, ok? Take a nightstick and jam it forcibly up your ass, and tell me where you feel the pain.

Yishayahu's avatar

This reasoning just seems kind of contrived, maybe the anus was damaged and the doctor just didn't mention it because it was a minor injury (just like he didn't mention bruises the prisoner undoubtedly had) maybe they stuck something thin inside as far as it would go until it tore his rectum, idk.

Using the fact an anus injury isn't mention as some kind of silver bullet just isn't very convincing.

Baruch Hasofer's avatar

You're really committed to this guy having gotten raped, aren't you?

Baruch Hasofer's avatar

Here:

1 read the document linked here: https://x.com/BittonRosen/status/1821505424840962181?t=qb9FFdhzmV0bfKdW9UsVRA&s=19

2 print it out

3 roll it up in a tube

4 put it in a safe place so you'll always have it with you

Yishayahu's avatar

I wouldn't call that rape. It's just that we both know these things happen in Sde Teiman regularly. We both know a large part of the Israeli public supports it (the protesters at Sde Teiman were saying the Hamas guy deserved it, not that our soldiers would never do such a thing).

You, or any channel 14 viewer, would happily be one of the guys holding up the shields to block the cameras letting some sadists have their way with the prisoner. So why the denial? Just Hasbara instincts? because the act can be construed as sexual? I don't get it.

At latest by the 60s as can be inferred from https://www.amazon.com/Thud-Ridge-Thunderchief-Missions-Vietnam/dp/0859791165 and https://www.amazon.com/100-Missions-North-Fighter-Vietnam/dp/1574886398 which mutually support each other claiming extremely high fighter bomber losses being incurred due to restrictive ROE and predictable routes demanded by DoS and military lawyers.

Reading between the lines, those were not each other’s favourite guys either, so not likely to be collaboration to create a story.

not sure if I missed it, but what is your prescriptive vision of the future of Israel? All I ever read from you is blackpilling and hating everyone.

Baruch Hasofer's avatar

Pretty sure I alluded to a possible prescriptive vision at the end.

Shevvy's avatar

You alluded to some kind of corrupt monarchy which, at least, we are supposedly praying for three times a day. I just don't get how all of this eloquent writing ends up in such a dead-end vision

Baruch Hasofer's avatar

I definitely didn't allude to a CORRUPT monarchy

Meanwhile, back in the USA, the explanatory power of this simple thesis is incredible. It really seems to unlock the secrets of the era we are living in. Wokeness is not a new ideology, an outgrowth of Marxism, or a result of post-Obama disillusionment. It is simply feminine patterns of behavior applied to institutions where women were few in number until recently.

Read it here....

Baruch Hasofer's avatar

The women of the West don't act like women, either. It's a defect-defect equilibrium that incentivizes the worst of all sides, because that's what you get in the world where there is no God, or at least you've remade Him in your own image.

Gersh's avatar

I also found this interesting as an event, though as much of an L as it seems, I suspect that the Left's "morality" plays will come in. That she was "awaring" the world into the "crimes of the Right regime" because some monster story that implies the goons are out in force to prevent anyone from knowing what we're doing.

They may even lean into Global Left for it. "Look, the regime puts down whistleblowers!" That sort of thing.

Not surprising at all was her disappearance though. Magically she goes missing after a big scandal. Maybe she was going to suicide and couldn't pull the trigger (literally), which would be even more alienating for her as it makes some work for her friends in Smol-land Herzliya. Remember that scene with Commissar Danilov in Enemy at the Gates where he "redeems" himself by taking a headshot for the team after trying to get the main character (Zaytzev) killed so he can move in on the girl? I expect they wanted her to do similar but she just couldn't handle it, and now she becomes a weak link in the Deep Shtetl chain.
